관련한 The Register 기사 https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/11/20/org_registry_sale_shambles/ 에 따르면,

Ethos Capital 뒤에는 예전 ICANN 의 CEO 였던 Fadi Chehade 와 COO 였던 Akram Atallah 가 있음.

즉 예전 ICANN 멤버들이 자신들의 이익을 위해서 도메인 네임 가격 상한을 없애고 관리권한을 넘기는 행위들을 하고 있다는 것.
