- Google 과 OpenAI 등과 경쟁하기 위한 차세대 LLM으로 상업적으로 사용가능한 오픈소스가 될 예정   
- Meta로서는 수많은 개발자들을 참여하여 개선시킴으로써 이점을 얻게 되고, AI 지형을 크게 바꿀수 있을 것  
- 연구용 라이선스 였던 LLaMA의 발표 많으로 많은 변화가 있었고, 클로즈드 소스 모델들과 격차를 빠르게 좁혔음   
- OpenAI 도 자체 오픈소스 LLM을 준비중
