- 써드파티 앱들이 사용하는 Reddit의 API가 유료 모델로 변경된게 원인  
  - 1000번 호출당 $0.24 여서, 현재 Apollo의 사용량 기준 월 $2m(26억원) 씩 내야 함  
- Reddit 과 Apollo 개발자간에 몇주간 전화통화등의 논의가 있었지만, "협박" 과 "위협" 이란 말이 나오며 서로 비난하고 있음   
- Reddit 자체에 대한 보이콧으로 이어지는 중

Reddit 같은 커뮤니티를 사용하지 않는지라 얼마나 비슷한지는 모르겠지만, 비슷한 형태의 대안 프로젝트라면 Lemmy 라는 프로젝트도 있다고 알고있습니다. GeekNews에서 한 번은 언급되었을 줄 알았는데 찾질 못하겠네요.
