- JPEG-XL은 로열티가 없는 차세대 손실/무손실 압축 포맷  
- ISO/IEC 18181로 표준화 되었으며, 크롬 91부터 피쳐플래그로 적용 가능하게 도입됨   
- 하지만 110 버전부터 지원 중단 예정   
- 이유는 "에코 시스템에서 충분한 관심을 받지 못했으며, 기본 기능이 될 정도로 기존 형식에 비해 충분한 이점을 제공하지 않음"  
- 구글은 아마도 차세대 이미지 포맷으로 WebP 와 AVIF 를 밀려고 하는 듯
