- Systemd, PulseAudio, Avahi 등의 리드개발자 였던 Lennart Poettering은 리눅스/오픈소스 에코시스템에 엄청난 기여를 했음  
- RedHat에서 10년 넘게 근무했는데, 이제 Microsoft에서 Systemd 개발을 계속할 예정   
- 올해 초 유명 리눅스 커널 개발자인 Christian Brauner 도 Canonical 에서 Microsoft로 이직 했음   
- Microsoft에는 현재 Linux가 언급된 663개의 채용 공고가 있음. 그만큼 리눅스/에코시스템 지원을 늘리고 있다는 얘기

MS가 망하더라도 윈도우가 리눅스 커널 쓰는 날은 안 올 겁니다. 커널 구조 자체도 아예 다르고(NT - 하이브리드, 리눅스 - 모놀리틱) 본문의 리눅스 채용 공고 대다수는 애저 같은 클라우드 계열 사업부쪽이라 윈도우와는 WSL 같은 거 아니면 아예 관련 없어요.

NT를 두고 Linux를 쓰는데 큰 이점이 없어보이는데 그런 기대가 수요가 있을까요?

wsl은 저도 알고 있고 잘 쓰고 있어요.   
제 이야기는 윈도우가 리눅스 베이스로 전향하는 원대한 꿈을 가지고 있지 않을까 하는 기대감을 표현한겁니다.

윈도가 리눅스 베이스로 되거나 하진 않지만... CBL Mariner, CBL Delbridge 처럼 MS에서 Azure, WSL 등에 내부적으로 쓰려고 만든 리눅스 배포판이 있습니다.

.net도 리눅스에 포팅되었고,   
powershell도 리눅스에 포팅되었고,   
docker도 윈도우에서 잘 동작하고,   
wsl -> lsw 로 변경하는것도 가능하지 않을까 하는데 말이죠.. ㅎㅎㅎ

API 호환 레이어라는 점에서 Wine은 WSL 1과 비슷하다고 생각하는데, WSL 2에 해당하는 것도 MS가 만든다면 나올 수는 있을 테지만 그걸 쓸 사람이 얼마나 될지는 솔직히 잘 모르겠어요.

참고로 실제 윈도우에 리눅스 커널이 들어가게 된 것은 WSL 2부터로 알고 있습니다.
