- AWS Aurora Postgres 의 오픈소스 대체제   
- Compute 와 Storage를 분리하고, Postgres의 Storage Layer를 클러스터 노드에 분산하여 저장하는 Neon Storage 엔진으로 교체   
- 단일 명령으로 실행 가능 `$psql -h pg.neon.tech`  
- Neon Storage Engine 은 2개의 컴포넌트로 구성   
  - Pageserver : Compute 노드를 위한 스케일러블 스토리지 백엔드  
  - WAL service : Compute 노드에서 WAL(Write-Ahead-Log)를 수신해서 영구적으로 저장
