- 1996년에 설립되어 1999년에 아마존에 $250M 금액에 인수됨

- Alexa 라는 이름은 이집트의 프톨레마이오스 왕조 시절 Alexandria 도서관에 대한 오마쥬

- Alexa 의 공동 창립자인 Brewster Kahle 은 Alexa 인수금액을 가지고 공익적인 일을 하기 위해 Internet Archive 를 설립했음

Alexa 데이터는 그래도 종종 쓸만했는데.. 이제 대체제인 https://similarweb.com/ 이 더 잘 되겠군요.
