그래프DB 를 위한 표준 쿼리 언어. Cypher 와 오라클의 PGQL/SQL 에서 많은 것을 가져왔음.

GQL 프로젝트는 SQL 이후 최초의 ISO / IEC 국제 표준 데이터베이스 언어 프로젝트.

한국,중국을 포함한 10개국이 찬성 ( 5개국은 기권, 일본만 반대.. )

GQL 은 SQL 의 경쟁자가 아니며 서로를 보완하는 것.

SQL표준을 유지 보수하는 워킹그룹에서 GQL 도 개발 및 유지보수 할 것.
