- 1997년에 출시된 유료 암호 해독 도구로 윈도우즈 암호를 복구/해킹하는데 사용되었음

ㅤ→ brute-force, dictionary, hybrid, rainbow table 등의 기법을 이용

- 2020년 Terahash에 매각되었다가, 2021/7/1 자로 원 저작자에게 돌아간뒤 판매 중단

- 내부에 사용된 상용 라이브러리 들을 제거/교체 한 후 오픈소스로 공개

ㅤ→ HashCat, John The Ripper 를 Shared Library 형태로 동작하도록 변경해서 별도 Repo로 공개
