On-Device Machine Learning은 여러 장점이 있지만 개발자들은 공통적인 문제에 직면하게 됨

- ML을 위한 추가 라이브러리로 앱 싸이즈가 증가함

- 디바이스에 따라 성능, 안정성, 정확도가 많이 달라짐

- 최대한 많은 디바이스에 적용하기 위해 오래된 API를 사용해야 하며, 이로 인해 최신 ML 기술을 적용하기 어려움

구글은 이 문제를 풀기 위해 Android ML Platform를 구축.

- TFLite가 Google Play Services에 포함됨

- 앱 개발자는 On-Device ML를 위해 라이브러리를 추가할 필요가 없음

- 일관된 API를 제공하며 Google Play Services를 통해 정기적으로 업데이트 됨.

- Automatic Acceleration 기능 적용

모든 장치에서 최적의 성능 (Automatic Acceleration)

- Automatic Acceleration은 Android용 TensorFlowLite의 새로운 기능

- 모델별 테스트를 통해 성능, 정확성 및 안정성을 고려하여 특정 장치에 대한 allowlist를 생성

- Allowlist는 런타임에 하드웨어 가속을 활성화 할 시기를 결정하는 데 사용

올해 말에 출시될 예정
