"Amazon: NOT OK"

- AWS 와 Amazon Elasticsearch 는 2015년부터 옳지 않은 일을 해왔고 점점 안 좋아짐

ㅤ→ 이름도 가져다 쓰고, Open Distro 포크까지

- Server Side Public License (SSPL) 과 Elastic License 로 듀얼 라이센스로 변경(기존 APL2)

ㅤ→ 개인이나 기업 사용자는 차이 없음

ㅤ→ 다만 클라우드 사업자들은 이제 Elastic과 협업없이 SaaS로 제공하지 못함

AWS ElasticSearch로 오픈소스 기업 사업을 물먹인건 둘째치고, 이제보니 ElasticSearch 브랜드명을 허가없이 그대로 가져다 쓰고 있더라고요.

거기다가 AWS 가 해당 서비스 론칭할때 ElasticSearch와 협업했다는데 실제로는 협업하지 않았고요. 그래서 고객들은 AWS서비스가 ElasticSearch에서 직접 제공하는 서비스인줄 알고 혼동한다고...합법여부를 떠나서 AWS행태가 지나치더라고요. 블로그글에서 AWS를 특정지어서 NOT OK 라고 공개적으로 비판할만합니다.

오픈소스지만 SaaS 로 사용 못하게 하는 라이센스 방식은 많이들 도입하고 있습니다.
