광산에서 채굴노동을 하던 로봇 ‘캔’에게 어느날 갑자기 시민권이 주어진 뒤 벌어진 일을 그린 단편 SF소설입니다. (한국어) 처음 부분은 아니 이게 소설이라고? 라고 느낄 수 있을 텐데, 이게 의외로 소설적 장치더라고요. 이 부분이 특이하게 느껴져 여기 소개합니다.

참고로 “신스”(Synth)는 [폴아웃](Fallout) 게임 시리즈에 등장하는 인조인간의 명칭입니다.
