- Valve의 Proton을 이용해서 윈도우용 게임 5종을 리눅스에서 실행해서 윈도우와 성능 비교 테스트 수행  
  - 사이버펑크 2077, Forspoken, 라쳇 & 클랭크, 스타필드, Talos Principle II 등   
- Arch Linux, Pop!_OS, Nobara Linux(개인이 관리하는 Fedora 기반 배포본) 등에서 테스트했는데 리눅스가 성능이 더 뛰어난 것으로 결과가 나옴  
  - FPS의 경우 최고 6% 정도 빠르고, 대부분 약 1~5% 정도 리눅스가 빠름  
- 윈도우가 백그라운드에서 더 많은 작업을 수행하고 있기 때문인 것으로 판단  
- Talos Principle II 의 경우 Nobara Linux 에서 71.5 FPS, 윈도우 11은 65.1 FPS

맥 머신에 네이티브로 리눅스를 깔고 여기서 게임을 돌릴 수도 있겠네요

이미 맥에서 게임 포팅 툴킷으로 비슷한 효과를 얻을 수 있으며  
아사히 리눅스가 아직 게임을 자유자재로 구동할 수 있는 수준까지는 아닌 걸로 알고 있습니다.  
  
그리고 아키텍처가 달라서 변환레이어 (로제타, box86)에서 발생하는 성능 손실이 상당합니다.

맥이 일단 arm계열이라 x86 게임을 네이티브로 돌릴수가 없어요

큰 수치 차이는 아닙니다만, 원래 빠른 리눅스 성능에 빠른 호환레이어가 붙고, 쓸데없는 백그라운드작업이 없으니 이런 결과도 나오는군요.  
밸브가 놀라운 일을 하고 있다고 생각합니다. 점점 윈도우 점유율을 줄이는 건 게임쪽이 될 듯
