해당 기사는 전반적으로 OS의 품질을 올리겠다는 (어느 소프트웨어 개발 업체나 하고싶어하는) 이야기입니다만,  
특이하게 이런 문구가 있네요.

매 1년마다 진행하던 안드로이드 릴리즈를 더 짧은 기간으로 나누고 싶어하는 것 같습니다.  
사실 안드로이드의 릴리즈 주기가 다른 Google Product에 비해 길기는 하죠.

회사 동료분에게 AOSP릴리즈 주기를 설명해드리다가, 해당 글을 읽는 분들도 참고하시는게 좋을 것 같아서 남깁니다.  
  
AOSP는 다음과 같은 릴리즈 주기를 가집니다  
  
* Major Release (1년)  
* QPR(Quarterly Platform Release) (3개월)  
* Security Update (1달)  
  
이 외에도 다음과 같은 업데이트가 있습니다.  
* [Google Play System Update](https://source.android.com/docs/core/ota/modular-system) : 제조사가 OS업데이트를 하지 않더라도, OS의 컴포넌트에 대한 Update를 Google 에서 제공) (1달)  
* Pixel Feature Drop : QPR + 픽셀전용 앱 업데이트 (3개월)

삼성 같은 경우 메이저 업데이트를 4번을 지원하는데 그러면 결과적으로 소프트웨어 지원 기간은 오히려 짧아지는게 아닐지...

조직 내부의 사기 진작? 등을 위해서는 짧은 기간이 더 나은듯 해요. 1년은 확실히 너무 길죠.
